Privacy policy
Last updated 28 October 2026
Your media files stay on your device. Pausiq edits audio and video entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see them.
Pausiq keeps almost no data about you. There are no passwords, no Pausiq database, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The only personal data involved comes from buying and using Pausiq Pro: the purchase is handled by our reseller Paddle, and Pausiq keeps only a short list of the browsers you use Pro in, stored with your subscription at Paddle.
1. Who is responsible
The controller for the personal data described here is the operator of Pausiq, a sole trader in Lithuania. The operator's name, address and registration are in the legal notice. Contact us about privacy at support@pausiq.app.
2. Your audio and video files
When you open a file in Pausiq, your browser reads it on your own device. Pause detection, cutting, zooms, previews and exports all run on your device. Nothing from your files is sent anywhere, so we do not collect, store or have access to your recordings, the people in them, or anything they contain.
On a phone, when you choose a video or recording from your photo library or gallery, your phone gives Pausiq only the files you pick, and only in this browser tab. Pausiq cannot see the rest of your library. On iPhone and iPad, "Save to Photos" hands the finished video to your phone's own share menu, which saves it to your Photos app; the video goes straight from your browser to your phone and is not uploaded. If your photo library syncs to a cloud service, such as iCloud Photos or Google Photos, that happens under your own account with that service, not through Pausiq.
Pausiq does not keep your projects either. Your edit exists only in the open browser tab and is gone when you close it, unless you export it. The one exception is a reload you start from the "Pausiq has been updated" bar: your project is kept in your browser for a few seconds so it can reopen, then deleted. See cookies and storage.
3. When personal data is involved
| Situation | Data | Who handles it and why | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visiting the website | IP address, browser type, time, requested page | Our host Cloudflare processes these technical request details for us to deliver the site and protect it from attacks, including DDoS attacks. We do not keep our own logs. | Legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Buying Pausiq Pro | Name, email, country, payment details, order and subscription | Paddle sells Pausiq Pro as the merchant of record, on a checkout page that only then loads Paddle's code. It processes this data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We never receive card details. We can view your order and subscription in our Paddle dashboard, only to help you with support and refunds. | Contract, Art. 6(1)(b), and legal obligations, Art. 6(1)(c) |
| Using Pausiq Pro | The email address you paid with (only when you sign in), a one-time sign-in code, a random ID and a name for each browser (for example "Safari on iPhone"), IP address | Pausiq's own small Pro service, run on Cloudflare, checks your subscription with Paddle when you sign in and regularly afterwards, so Pro works on up to 3 of your browsers at a time and cannot be shared without limit. If you sign in on a fourth, the browser you used longest ago is removed from the list and signed out. The browser list is stored with your subscription at Paddle. Sign-in codes are emailed through Resend, which keeps a record of sent emails for a limited time; Pausiq does not store them. | Contract, Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Emailing us | Your email address and message | We use it only to answer you and delete the conversation within 2 years. Our email address forwards through Cloudflare Email Routing to a Google Gmail mailbox, where the conversation is kept. | Contract or legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) |
Trying Pausiq for free involves no personal data: nothing about your free try is stored or sent to us.
4. What we do not do
- No Pausiq accounts and no Pausiq database of users or customers.
- No analytics, advertising or social media trackers, and no tracking cookies.
- No profiling and no automated decisions that affect you.
- No selling or renting of personal data.
- No access to the media files you edit.
5. Service providers
- Cloudflare hosts the website and Pausiq's Pro service, protects them against attacks and forwards email sent to our address, as our processor under a data processing agreement.
- Resend sends the Pausiq Pro sign-in codes by email, as our processor under its data processing agreement.
- Google (Gmail) stores the emails you send us, as our processor under its data processing terms.
- Paddle sells Pausiq Pro, takes payment, issues invoices and manages subscriptions, as an independent controller. For the list of your signed-in browsers it acts for us, as our processor.
We may share data when the law requires it, for example with tax authorities or a court.
6. Transfers outside the EU
Cloudflare, Google and Resend are based in the United States and may process data there. Cloudflare and Google rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission standard contractual clauses, and Resend on the standard contractual clauses; Resend sends Pausiq's emails from its EU region in Ireland. Paddle is based in the United Kingdom, which the European Commission recognises as protecting personal data adequately, and relies on the standard contractual clauses for any processing elsewhere.
7. How long data is kept
We keep nothing ourselves except emails you send us. The list of your signed-in browsers is kept with your subscription at Paddle and goes when you sign a browser out, or when the subscription is deleted. Pausiq does not store sign-in codes, and each one stops working after about 10 minutes. Resend keeps a record of the emails it sends, including the code, for a limited time so delivery problems can be checked. Cloudflare keeps technical request data only briefly for security. Paddle keeps purchase and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you gave. Because Pausiq keeps almost no data about you, most requests concern your purchase: you can make them to Paddle directly, or email us at support@pausiq.app and we will help. We answer within one month.
You can also complain to a data protection authority. In Lithuania that is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija), L. Sapiegos g. 17, LT-10312 Vilnius, vdai.lrv.lt. You can also complain in the EU country where you live or work.
9. Children
Pausiq is not meant for children under 16. Pausiq Pro may only be bought by adults, or by minors with a parent's or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly process personal data of children under 13 (or under 14 or 16 where local law sets that age). If you believe a child's data has reached us, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights wherever you live
Pausiq can be used worldwide. We give everyone the rights described in section 8, wherever they live, and we follow the privacy laws of the places our users come from. Because Pausiq keeps almost no data about you, most of these laws ask little of us, but you have the rights below.
United Kingdom
You have the same rights under the UK GDPR. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk.
Switzerland
You have equivalent rights under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
United States, including California
We do not sell or share personal information, including for targeted advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information. In the last 12 months the only categories involved were identifiers and commercial information from purchases (handled by Paddle), and internet activity limited to technical request data needed to deliver and protect the website. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws can ask to know, correct or delete their personal information by emailing support@pausiq.app, and we will never treat you differently for doing so. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Canada, Brazil, Australia and other countries
Under laws such as Canada's PIPEDA, Brazil's LGPD and Australia's Privacy Act, you can access and correct your personal information, ask for it to be deleted, and complain to your local data protection authority.
Asia
Under laws such as Japan's APPI, South Korea's PIPA, Singapore's PDPA, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and China's PIPL, you can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Your data may be processed in the European Union and the United States by the providers named above. Email support@pausiq.app with any request.
11. Security
The website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), with strict browser security rules: the editor runs only its own code, loads no code or content from other websites, and cannot be shown inside other sites. Only the separate checkout page loads Paddle's payment form. Pro checks go to Pausiq's own Pro service, never straight from the editor to another company. Because your media never leaves your device, and the only Pro data is a short browser list kept at Paddle, there is very little of yours that could ever be exposed.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top and, for important changes, show a notice in Pausiq before they apply.
