Accessibility statement

Last updated 22 October 2026

We want Pausiq to be usable by as many people as possible, and we aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

What works well

  • Every main action has a keyboard shortcut, listed under the ? button: Space to play, A and S for pauses, C to cut, V and H for tools, and more.
  • Buttons have text labels or accessible names, and keyboard focus is always visible.
  • Text and controls meet colour contrast requirements on the dark theme.
  • Pausiq respects the reduced motion setting of your device.
  • The legal pages work with screen readers, zoom up to 200% and on phones.

Known limits

  • The timeline and waveform are drawn as images. Moving and trimming clips there needs a mouse or trackpad, and screen readers cannot describe each clip yet. Cutting, playing and jumping between pauses work with the keyboard.
  • The video preview has no captions of its own, because it shows your own media.

We are working on keyboard control for moving clips and on better screen reader descriptions of the timeline.
